THE 70 WEST CHALLENGE

More than just a Fire Department !  Protecting one of the fastest growing communities in Garland County, 70 West is committed to offering  the best in a full complement of fire suppression, prevention, extrication rescue, water rescue, hazardous materials, and emergency medical services for the area. Check out the Fleet at your service!   70 West operates Fifteen apparatus that responds out of six stations strategically located throughout the 118 square mile area. We are on the move! Moving forward that is or maybe up! Keep your eyes open, we will be unveiling our new apparatus very soon! Always striving to provide the greatest protection for our customers while trying to lower insurance rates and keep things exciting we are looking very forward to the possibilities.

Celebrating 42 years of answering the call for help in the 70 West Community, the 70 West Fire Protection Association is dedicated to being the best community focused fire and rescue department working as a team to ensure a safe and secure environment for all those entrusted to our care.

Considered to be one of the most progressive fire departments in Arkansas, the 70 West Fire Department is proud of the opportunity we have to serve our community. We continue to set our goals high in order to train firefighter, medical and rescue staff to provide the best in a full complement of fire suppression, extrication rescue, water rescue, hazardous materials, and emergency medical services for the 70 West area. Since our humble beginnings in 1969, 70 West has evolved into a complex agency for meeting the emergency needs of the 70 West Community. Today, approximately 30 men and women volunteer to respond out of six stations strategically positioned throughout our 118 square mile coverage area.

HELP US HELP YOU!

A part of our responsibility is locating, servicing, maintaining and flow testing fire hydrants. This is one of our duties to help in lowering your homeowner's insurance premiums. Our area consists of 3 water district zones and a total of over 587 hydrants. We must inspect these twice yearly to keep them clear from obstructions including weeds, shrubs (this includes decorative landscape), etc. This can be extremely time consuming and taxing of resources. You can help by taking care of the hydrants on or near your property. They are not eye sores, they are your first line of defense in case of fire!
